The Ratings you see below indicate the average across all experts. The Std Dev (Standard Deviation) indicates how much the expert's ratings differed from one another; high means there are wildly varying opinions.

#10: The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride (Rating: 8.7, Std Dev: 1.15)

The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #206)

The Gitrog Monster never disappoints, and now you get to use him as a Mount. How badass is that? A 6/5 trample and haste creature is good enough, but if you Saddle up and sacrifice the saddled creature, you get incredible value if Gitrog gets through for damage (which shouldn't be too hard with trample. Just a fun card with a great design.

#9: Selvala, Eager Trailblazer (Rating: 9.0, Std Dev: 0.00)

Selvala, Eager Trailblazer (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #231)

The queen of big mana returns. This time, she's bringing friends. Every time you cast a creature spell (which hopefully is often), you generate a 1/1 token which is great. Wow. But on top of that, you can tap her to generate significant mana. It might take some setup to get maximum value, but Selvala is a value-generating engine regardless and has a solid 4/5 body to boot. The experts are also in total agreement on this one with a standard deviation of 0.00.

#8: Ornery Tumblewagg (Rating: 9.0, Std Dev: 1.00)

Ornery Tumblewagg (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #171)

Oh baby, we know how good adding a +1/+1 counter on each turn can be and combined with the ability to double up counters on a target creature, this can lead to some massive swings. I don't love that it's only a 2/2 and can die from pretty much every piece of removal in the set, but if it sticks around it'll snowball. In a dedicated counters deck this is the best card you can get.

#7: Goldvein Hydra (Rating: 9.0, Std Dev: 1.00)

Goldvein Hydra (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #167)

I'm frankly shocked to see this all the way down at #8. It has bomb written all over it. Shivan Devastator with an extra keyword and Treasure generation when it dies is silly, and you can cast it for X which means it can scale as you go. If you want to cast it on turn 3, I won't blame you.

#6: Calamity, Galloping Inferno (Rating: 9.0, Std Dev: 0.82)

Calamity, Galloping Inferno (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #116)

Is it just me or should there have been a cycle of horse bombs in this set? Calamity is truly a force. A 4/6 creature with haste and a measly Saddle 1 means you can get this to go off right away without much fuss. If you have another strong creature on the board when you play this, it has the potential to win you the game right away as you throw three creatures at your opponent out of nowhere. Giddyup.

#5: Gisa, the Hellraiser (Rating: 9.3, Std Dev: 0.50)

Gisa, the Hellraiser (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #89)

Committing a Crime won't be difficult in this set, so I can see Gisa generating a hoard of 3/3 Zombie Rogues (an Outlaw type for those Outlaw synergies) that will quickly overrun your opponent. You can imagine how much value this can generate over a few times. The ward cost paying two life isn't trivial either, making this version of the zombie queen extremely potent in limited.

#4: Railway Brawler (Rating: 9.7, Std Dev: 0.50)

Railway Brawler (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #175)

This is the definition of a green bomb, a beefy rhino warrior that makes all of your other creatures come into the battlefield twice as big. The fact you can plot this for four is likely worth it here despite my opinion of plot being a questionable investment outside of specific strategies, as you can then throw a five drop down on the next turn which comes in twice as big. Or, throw down a couple of cheaper creatures once Railway Brawler hits the battlefield to get that power distributed across multiple bodies. A surefire bomb.

#3: Rakdos, the Muscle (Rating: 9.7, Std Dev: 0.50)

Rakdos, the Muscle (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #226)

You'll be grinning as much as Rakdos in this art when you drop this on your opponent. A flying 6/5 trampler is scary by itself, but you can then sacrifice another creature to steal from your opponent's deck, Gonti-style. And oh wait, the enabler is built into the card, as Rakdos lets you sacrifice a creature at instant speed each turn to give it indestructible and trigger the ability. When the enabler and the payoff are built onto the same card, things can get wild pretty quickly.

#2: Bonny Pall, Clearcutter (Rating: 9.7, Std Dev: 0.50)

Bonny Pall, Clearcutter (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #196)

At least 12/11 worth of power split across two bodies is a lot of value for six mana. On top of that, whenever you attack, you get to draw a card and play another land from your graveyard or hand if you have one available. You don't even have to get the damage through on your attack, you just need to attack (and it doesn't have to be with Bonny). The value here is absurd. Your opponent won't be too happy when they get smacked down by a giant blue cow.

#1: Terror of the Peaks (Rating: 9.8, Std Dev: 0.50)

Terror of the Peaks (Outlaws of Thunder Junction #149)

This is a badly needed reprint, but I'm surprised they didn't at least give this dragon a cowboy hat. I'm also surprised this card didn't score perfect 10s across the board, with one expert coming in at a 9. Terror of the Peaks will straight up win you games. If it can last a turn or two, you've probably used this dragon's ability to kill off your opponent's threats or just assigned damage to your opponent's face to end the game. Oh, and your opponent has to pay 3 life to remove it or even target it (again, not trivial). A worthy first pick of the entire set and a clear bomb.
